Campaign Story
Hello, my name is Joey Sanabria and I am the proud father of Ryan Sanabria. Currently, I volunteer as a coach to Ryan’s travel baseball team.
Ryan is part of a wonderful nonprofit organization for 10u travel baseball team named “Islip Owls”; coached by coach Roberto Valdes of Long Island, NY.
These 12 young athletes have been playing together as a travel team for four years. They play 16-Spring, 16-Summer and 16-Fall games, 12 tournaments, and 5 scrimmages. This year-long season totals 65 games. As many of you may know – travel baseball can be costly. Fundraising is not enough!
This page was set up to allow family and friends to contribute to fundraising initiatives and off-set the costs for year-round travel of equipment, uniform, lodging, food, transportation, training/off-season workout, field up-keep and tournament expenses for the season. This includes the final tournament which ends with the Disney’s New Year’s Baseball Classic Tournament held in Orlando, Florida.
Travel baseball is by design a higher level of competition, compared to recreational leagues. This level of competing provides these young boys the foundation of playing skilled ballplaying. It keeps the individual active, improve development and listening skills, develop life skills such as being part of “team”, and how to work hard to achieve set goals. Secondly, it can increase exposure if you’re son is interested in playing college baseball. Lastly, deep down inside, some of us hope they will someday play for the Mets!
These boys are "self-motivated" and dedicated to improving their game. While they possess a strong desire to compete; they can’t do it alone. Please help by donating so these athletes reach a level of success unimaginable and make our season possible!
On behalf of team we Thank you for all your Support!
