Ismael Santamaria

On Sunday, August 20, 2023, Ismael was out with his favorite uncle Tio Chino playing baseball; he talked about how he was excited to see his school classmates, show everyone his new shoes his uncle/Tio Sebas had gifted him, and roll up with his new clothes that his mommy Carmen and grandma Finna had laid out for him.

Unfortunately, Ismael could not surprise his 4th-grade class with his new school gear the following Monday.

On Monday, August 21, 2023, Ismael was admitted to Children's Hospital.

On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Ismael was diagnosed with cancer.

Within the blink of an eye, our 9-year-old spontaneous, compassionate, kindhearted son, cousin, and extraordinary baseball fanatic life changed.

Our great friend, sister, cousin, comadre, and of course, the fantastic mother that she is, Carmen, will be going through a challenging journey with Ismael's recovery and treatment throughout this difficult time. Carmen is THE most kind-hearted person that we know in this world. She is there for everyone, whether you are a friend, family, or stranger. She never shys away from lending a hand to anyone who needs moral, emotional, or financial support.

We humbly ask for monetary support for Carmen for any medical expenses, treatment, rent, and anything else she may encounter throughout these years. Whether it is 1 dollar or 10, anything is greatly appreciated.
