Road to recovery for Isobel Burns

On November 9th 2023, my niece Isobel (5) was taken to the hospital and rushed to Sickkids in Toronto. After a few very intense days, Isobel has been diagnosed with leukaemia. She also has Respiratory Syncytial Virus and a severe bacterial infection which is affecting her lungs and breathing function.

My name is Brittany, I am Isobel’s aunt, and I’m starting this gofundme to help my sister and her family with the financial costs of travel, medical and accommodations while they are required to remain in Toronto for an undetermined timeframe, as this is going to be a long process to recovery for Isobel. The donations will also assist in allowing Katie and Tyler (Isobel’s parents) to be by her side every step of the way, as they will be having to take time off of work to be there.

Isobel is a bright little soul and it’s devastating to hear this news. Isobel is in for a long battle to recovery and will be enduring intense immediate treatment which will require inpatient treatment and working towards an intensive outpatient treatment plan. She is going to be fighting a tough battle and their family appreciates all the support they can get.

While Isobel is receiving treatment, Gracie (8) will be in Peterborough attending school. If you are close to the family and interested in spending some time with Gracie, please reach out to the family! Gracie will need lots of love and support during this difficult time.
