Isolated Incidents Podcast and Book

Donation protected
I'm raising money to write and self publish a short e-book and launch a podcast on white extremist violence in the US.  The e-book will include interviews with journalists, researchers and activists on the best practices of covering and learning about white extremism. Also, basic info on how to spot the signs and symbols of the far right. The book will most importantly give you info on who to follow and where to get trustworthy info on the internet.

Anyone who donates will get a link to download it first - and I hope to complete it in within 4 weeks. The benefits of creating it as an electronic book (beyond the obvious costs) is that I will be able to continually update as people change websites, twitter handles and I talk to more people.

As I've covered extremism in the US, including the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville and dozens of Trump rallies the book will also have photos taken by myself from on the ground with my first hand experiences.

My work has been used by activists and researchers to name the white extremists that attacked people in Charlottesville, causing (so far) four of them to be sentenced to prison time - several more are on the run from the law. I say this to express my bias, I am doing this work to fight against white extremism in all its forms. From the light end of the far right in Tucker Carlson to the nazis that march in the street and call for another genocide.

I have already started the book in the form of an article for NationofChange.org - the site that I have done most of my coverage of extremism and activism for. NationofChange, like most news sites is hard up for cash but continually has supported my work, giving me free clearance to write what I want without fear of attacks, unlike many other news publications. Please read the 3300 word article here.

If I raise more than the goal - I will use those funds to do more work on the ground and cover the costs of colleagues work who contribute to Visu.News, a news site that I have set up to consolidate my work and others.

My work as a journalist and researcher has been seen on the covers of The Nation Magazine, Rolling Stone and the Guardian (to name a few). Along with Greg Palast and the team at Al Jazeera America we won the Global Editors Network award for our investigation into Interstate Crosscheck, Kris Kobach's voter suppression scheme. Since then the program has been slowly falling apart as more and more people realize it's true motives.
