ISP Sgt. critically injured in the line of duty

On the morning of September 8, 2022, our friend and brother Mike Wendler was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 84 in Jerome City, Idaho. Mike was providing traffic control at an incident as part of his duties as an Idaho State Police Sergeant, and he was outside his patrol vehicle when hit. Mike suffered critical injuries in the collision, was revived on scene by first responders and was subsequently flown by air ambulance to a trauma center in Idaho Falls for emergency surgery, where he currently remains in the intensive care unit.

Mike is a beloved and devoted husband, father, friend, and co-worker. As a Marine Corps veteran and 16+ year member of the Idaho State Police, Mike has dedicated his entire adult life to serving others; his life epitomizes a servant leader mindset. Mike also has a true warrior’s spirit, but he has a long road to recovery in this fight for his life.

The Wendler family has asked for nothing but prayers for their dad, son, and husband, but they also could use any and all support possible.
