How long have you held onto a dream?
Blind Man Media presents Israel Balogun: Dare to Dream, a final-year project from students at Sheffield Hallam University. A powerful documentary that delves into the life of Israel Adekunle Balogun, one of the world’s most inspiring and determined advocates for disability rights. Born into a small, poverty-stricken village in Nigeria, Israel’s vision and philosophy have propelled him from hardship to becoming an influential advisor on disability rights and inclusion to global leaders.
At a young age, Israel contracted polio, which left him facing not only the physical challenges of disability but also the societal stigma that came with it. Despite being dismissed and underestimated, Israel showed remarkable resilience and strength. His journey from a marginalized child labelled as incapable to a globally recognized disability advisor is nothing short of extraordinary. Today, he champions the rights of disabled individuals worldwide, empowering them to dream big and achieve those dreams.
This documentary sheds light on Israel’s journey, uncovering the obstacles he overcame and the values that drive him.
This film is crafted by a passionate team of Sheffield Hallam University students: Callum Kettlewell, Adeola Oluwaseun, Aidan Giblin, Matthew Townend, and Ollie Gill. By contributing to this film, you are supporting a story that needs to be told; one that will inspire people to recognize the limitless potential within themselves, regardless of their circumstances. The funds from this fundraiser will go towards travel, production value and festivals.
