Issac Carpenter final resting place marker
Donation protected
Issac Carpenter was murdered on July 2 2022 while helping his sister Miara and his 2-year-old nephew Adonis flee a domestic situation. He was just 21 years old. But that day can never define who he was as a person.
He adored Adonis and loved him like he was his own child. He would take off work to babysit. He would pick Adonis up and drop him off at relatives' homes. He bought Adonis a car seat to match his car along with matching clothes they could wear together. If he bought a pair of shoes, he bought a matching pair for his nephew. He was teaching Adonis about grooming and taking care of his hair.
Issac was the leader of the family, his mom Aviance says. A soothing presence. He was beloved and relied upon. Adonis looked up to him like a big brother. Issac is so missed by his family. They have been devastated by this loss and are working hard to keep their family together.
His murderer claimed self-defense and the family was denied any victim's assistance. Because of ongoing legal and medical costs, Aviance has put off purchasing a marker for Issac’s grave. No mother should have to choose between recognizing and remembering their child’s final resting place and another bill. This should not be.
My name is Shannon Mulligan and I have gotten to know Aviance while doing the work together to prevent tragedies like Issac’s. Aviance is a kind, loving, and calming presence in our movement. I never had the pleasure to meet Issac but I imagine I know where his personality came from. She is well-loved and respected amongst her peers. She and her family deserve this and so much more.
Please help me rectify this injustice and bring some measure of comfort and peace to this family.
