It Takes a Village - Please help Braxton!

On Thursday, September 29, 2022, Braxton Speicher suffered a gunshot wound to the femoral artery of his left leg. Braxton was taken to St Anthony's main campus in Lakewood, Colorado, where doctors and nurses did everything they could to care for Braxton before he was admitted to the ICU. He remained in an induced coma until doctors could get his blood pressure under control. There was concern that Braxton's leg had received too much damage and loss of blood and would need to be amputated. By Sunday, healthcare providers were able to bring Braxton out of sedation. Five days after the accident, the family had to make the difficult decision to amputate his leg. Braxton will remain in ICU until doctors are sure that he is stable. He will have to have a few more surgeries before he may be fitted for a prosthesis.
Braxton’s parents, Paul and Loraine, pastor Harvest Assembly of God church in Brush, Colorado and will be experiencing many financial burdens in the coming weeks and months ahead. Besides the obvious hospital expenses and the upcoming physical therapy co-pays, the family also endured the added driving, hotel, and food expenses from being over 90 minutes, one way, from their home in Fort Morgan.
Braxton is a 16-year-old Junior who currently attends Prairie High School. Braxton loves life and is a good kid. He loves playing sports, fishing, hunting and being with his family. Many things will change for him as he embarks on this next journey of life. Please uplift Braxton and his family in prayers.
