It's our turn to help our Kokoda friends
Donation protected
The COVID travel lockdown has hit Kokoda Track communities hard. They have lost the income they rely on from trekking groups - porter wages, campsite fees, food and direct sales to trekkers - and travel restrictions are likely to be for as long as a year.
This campaign is supported by the member companies of the Kokoda Tour Operators Association (KTOA) who are reaching out to all past trekkers. Your donation will go directly to KTOA who will distribute it to the families and communities along the Kokoda Track and Northern Beaches.
Since the Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels, our PNG friends have helped Australians through tough bits. Today, they offer support and friendship to those of us lucky enough to walk proudly in the footsteps of the Kokoda Diggers. Their communities welcome us and the porters are there whenever we need help getting through a tough bit.
COVID has been tough on so many around the world. Many of us have faced our own challenges - financial and other - and are relying on government support to get us through.
There is no government safety net for our Kokoda friends. Can you help them through a tough bit?
Anything you can give will mean so much to them.
Thank you!
This page has been set up by Liz Crothers, a past trekker (May 2019). All donations will go directly to KTOA who will distribute them directly to the communities. We're aiming for Octoberish 2020.
