Ithaca College 2025 Thesis Film: EARTHWORM
Donation protected
Hello! Given the success of the initial raise for the thesis film, I've decided to raise the budget to further improve production value. With this increased budget, my crew and I would love to increase the set design with further lighting equipment and props. As well as this, a filming location which better suits the scope of the film! Thank you so much for your support!
Hello! My name is Joshua Scelfo. I am a Cinema Production Ithaca College student preparing for my Thesis film! EARTHWORM is a project I've been very passionate about for the past year, and I'm looking to bring it to life with the help of fellow students and of course you!
Growing up, movies have been a fascination of mine through my family and the Park School at IC. I feel grateful to have grown and evolved my interest in the medium. Both fellow students, as well as the extremely talented professors at Ithaca College have helped prepare me for this thesis project, and as I continue to find my own voice, I am excited to express myself through Earthworm.
Filming in Upstate New York, the story follows Ed Hunham, an FBI Agent right out of Quantico, and Frank Jones, a former Detective who was suspended after the murder of his partner. These two opposing characters must work together to find the rampant 'Rain Man' killer.
Rain will play a big role in the film. Through sound and visual effects, (and hopefully with the help of Upstate weather in March), it will act as a plot device that will add tension.
Earthworm will have a large focus on sound and unique visuals, with a score by Destny06.
The film tackles themes of grievance, and it is a cautionary tale about the cycle of violence and our flawed morality.
Earthworm is a thriller and a race against the clock for Hunham and Jones, who share the goal of finding the Rain Man, but have very different reasons for doing so.
I am looking to raise $1,800 for my film. This is an ambitious project; however, after four years of commitment and dedication at Ithaca College, I know I am prepared to deliver on every front.
The budget breakdown of $1,800 (visuals below) is as follows:
Transportation: $100
Food On Set: $300
Props/Equipment: $800
Location: $300
Festival Submissions: $300
Any amount of money contributed will be fully put towards the production, and you will receive a special thanks in the credits!
