It's back! Breast Cancer twice all before 29!

Hi,

 

I'm Luke, and my beautiful wife is Bonnie. This is our story!

 

Three years ago (July 2019), my wonderful wife Bonnie was diagnosed with Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer at 26 years old after feeling a lump in her right breast. She had a lumpectomy to remove the tumour. This was followed by egg collection, a stint of chemo followed by radiation.

 

Fast forward a few years, and on December 1st, 2021, Bonnie gave birth (naturally) to our lovely daughter Indi. We had planned on having one more child and then doing the safe thing, which was for Bonnie to get a double mastectomy to rule out any chance of cancer returning.

 

Life, however, had different plans. The cancer came back, and boy did it come back hard. The chemo regime is a lot more hardcore this time around, with a double mastectomy booked for the end of the year.

 

This will put significant stress (mentally, physically and financially) on our lives. I aim to let Bonnie stay home from work to recover faster with less stress and watch over our beautiful daughter.

 

Any help is tremendous and appreciated. But please, get the word out to check yourself frequently and help create awareness. Talk to your GP if you find any abnormalities in your body. That one check can and will save a life.
