Its been a rough 6 months & we need some help

HI,

I am Michelle and am raising my grandson Ja who is 9. He is a really great kid and I love him so much being able to provide for us is the reason I am doing this. It's quite difficult for me to ask. ( I'd rather bypass the judgment and comments. )

You may know me and what has gone on over the last 6 months. If you don't know, well, let me fill you in.

So after searching and searching over the last couple of years, I was finally able to get a job, one that I absolutely LOVE and enjoy working! Things began to get difficult after that. In August I got COVID-19 and had to stay out of work for a few weeks to get better and then a month later I got it again and my work won't let you anywhere near their properties for a minimum of 2 weeks and then you have to test negative.

Finally was able to get back to work, which again I love working there and 3 days later I injured an already existing back problem causing me to be on medical leave without pay because I hadn't accumulated any disability pay. Disability denied me as well. The only income I currently have is cash aid which does not cover much. I had surgery on 11/22/22 and then was readmitted to the hospital on 12/14/22 for a really bad infection in my back causing me to have a 2nd surgery to go in and clean it out and was released on 12/25/22, the day after Christmas. I still have 1 more week of my iv antibiotics and am due to return to work in February.

Right now I look horrible on paper. I lived in this complex for the last almost 30 years. I was the longest tenant here. Unfortunately due to the recent 6 months, I have to be out on the 30th and we will be homeless. During the pandemic, I was able to obtain assistance that covered the rent but now was not able to.

It's really difficult right now to find an affordable apartment and have applied for one today but I need help with the deposit, rent for the first month and moving costs.

I know this isn't your problem and I'm not looking for a free ride. I'm hoping to get a second chance to get back on my feet and have a good home for Jax and myself. If you can spare a couple of dollars to help us through this rough patch and then when I get back to work everything will turn into running like clockwork.

We are also looking for homes for our cats....
