Planned Parenthood and a Woman's Right to Choose
Tax deductible
Raising money for Planned Parenthood by selling 42 original watercolors in honor of my Mom Anita Jaffe Seyler, who was a devoted and committed supporter of a woman’s right to choose.
The watercolors are from my series titled “It’s My Body” inspired by the concept that my body is mine, in all its power. I have the right to protect it from the invidious invasion of those who do not think the way I do. An individual’s right to privacy was recognized under many Supreme Court decisions pre-Roe.
Each 5x7” painting depicts a woman in her multiple personas: nurturer; justice of the peace; beautiful; sensual; wise; vulnerable; sexy; colorful; bold; powerful each saying in their own special voice how dare anyone legislate my torso.
Please go to https://www.facebook.com/media/set?vanity=julie.seyler&set=a.10220318354423181 to view the collection of 42 individual original watercolors and choose the one you want.
Then I got the idea I wanted to make a goddess sculpture with a robe of the watercolor paintings. I used our cat’s condo as an armature. It was made in the months before and after the Supreme Court issued the Dobbs decision and I found it very soothing to be sewing a sculpture I called The Goddess.
Eventually I had to dismantle The Goddess meaning that each of the paintings that was sewn into and out of The Goddess sculpture have tiny pin pricks in the upper left corner.
So please be aware before purchasing.
The minimum donation for each watercolor is $65, including shipping and postage, unframed and unmatted.
Please feel free to donate more as all costs after admin fees will be donated to Planned Parenthood in honor of Anita.
