The Groggy Frog is feeling a little swamped

Well folks, for a lack of better words, the past years of running a business post-COVID have been froggin’ hard. The Groggy Frog Cafe is a queer-friendly, frog themed cafe located in the heart of Moncton on St George. On top of that, the Frog is Autistic run, which means we’re working within the realm of owning a business with a disability.
These past 6 months have been financially tough on the cafe as we’ve had back to back repairs setting us back. In December our main food preparation fridge passed away, followed by our espresso machine needing repairs, and now issues with our fridge, freezer and more. Topped with wages, much needed renovations and original debt, we’re feeling a little swamped.
What’s kept the Frog going through these hard times is the heartbreak of thinking about losing the safe place and community hot spot for people from every walk of life. We provide a temporary place away from the stressors of home, school, work, the shelter; we’ve always made sure everybody is fed wether they can pay or not. We opened with intentions of being a cafe but found ourselves being needed to bridge some gaps in the community. We now happily find ourselves serving coffee and support to anybody who walks in.
So now we’re hoping to ask our community for some support back; we’re creating a GoFundMe in hopes of receiving some financial relief to help us get where we need to be in order to keep going. We have no financial expectations, but sharing this on social media is a huge help. If a multi-millionaire with a love of frogs were to see this, it could be our shot!
We thank every single person who’s come through our little coffee shop even just to say they love frogs. We’re going on year three and we’d love to sort ourselves out a bit better in order to have many more years to come. Thank you for all the love, laughs and lattes you’ve all been a part of, and as Kermit the Frog says, it’s not easy being green!
Much love,
The Frog fam
