Help Erick Study Abroad in Spain (IUHPFL)

León, Spain.
¡Hola amigos, familiares y otros! My name is Erick Seddon, and I'm a junior at Perry Meridian High School. This summer, I hope to participate in the accredited study abroad program called IUHPFL (Indiana University Honors Program in Foreign Languages). Last year I was accepted into the program, and I will be traveling to León, Spain on June 5th.
This is a life-changing program that allows Hoosier high school students to study abroad in Spanish-, German-, French-, and Chinese-speaking countries, but is demanding academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This program is available through IU Bloomington, and a major part is a vow to speak and say little to no English to ensure greater Spanish proficiency. IUHPFL has been sending students abroad since 1962, and I'm excited to be part of that legacy.

I am currently working towards saving enough money to be able to participate and travel to Spain, but it is extremely challenging to do so. This is where you come in. Any donation of any amount you may be able to give would be immensely appreciated. Funds will go towards the general payment of the study cost: including things such as host family compensation, food, classes, and excursions to historical sites. The total cost of the program is $4,900, but this does not include airfare which totals roughly $2400.
For those who may be seeing this page for the second time: yes, I was supposed to go last year! Unfortunately, I tore my ACL, and I could no longer do the activities in Spain. The nice people at IUHPFL allowed me to postpone my study abroad, and I will be better than ever this summer!
