Iulia's Forever Home

They say that when you lose your parents, you've lost your past, but when you lose your child, you've lost your future and I would also add that you lose your identity.
On a sunny afternoon, we lost our beloved daughter Iulia, our only child. She was an innocent victim of a terrible car accident. She was 19 years and 4 months old.
Iulia was born in Iasi, Romania, but grew up from the age of 3 years and 4 months in Toronto, Canada.
When she ascended to heaven, she was a student in her second year at the University, she was a child full of life with a lot of plans and a lot of friends who love her, respect her and try to keep her memory alive; a child who, from an early age, loved to help the people around her as much as she could.
We decided to bring Iulia to her birth town, Iasi, Romania, to bury her beloved body, and we chose the cemetery in the courtyard of the Saint Nicholas church in Poieni, a village 25 km from Iasi. We chose this cemetery because it is a small, beautiful and well-kept cemetery, a cemetery that is not a "city cemetery" where you may lose your identity. The house of Iulia's paternal grandparents is also located in Poieni, and during the holidays spent in Romania, Iulia enjoyed the weekends with her family at her ancestral house.
Our great comfort during this time has been Priest Cristinel Gheorghita Severin, who is taking care of our little girl spiritually, while we are still far away in Toronto.
Priest Cristinel Gheorghita Severin is one of a kind person, close to the little ones - for whom he organizes outings to the theater and vacations at the sea. The children are with him every Sunday at service and each has their role. But he is also close to those in need, and like Iulia, he tries to help those around him as much as possible, despite limited financial resources. At the same time, he makes efforts to keep the church and the cemetery in good condition and to bring much-needed improvements. Just a few examples include: building a chapel, taking care of the graves, building some benches for those who have lost their loved ones to spend some time next to them, and planting trees to shade the benches.

My prayer as the mother of someone who so much wanted to help others is to support the community of Poieni by raising money so Priest Severin can help the less fortunate and provide for the necessary improvements to the church and cemetery.
Please, from the bottom of your heart, help the church of Saint Nicholas in Poieni and its priest. Every dollar counts and even the smallest donations are greatly appreciated.

The GoFundMe platform has no direct delivery of funds in Romania. Unfortunately! So the money will have to take a little detour.
The short-term beneficiary of the funds will be Iulia's father, Valentin, who will take care of the full wire transfer of all collected funds into the bank account of Saint Nicholas Church Poieni.
Iulia, mommy and daddy will love you forever. Ramurica, be free!
