Study Abroad Trip To Ghana

Greetings everyone!!
My name is Morgan Wynn and I am currently a second-year student at the University of Georgia, majoring in Broadcasting Journalism. It has always been my desire to travel to the place commonly referred to as “the motherland”. This is the land in which my ancestors once thrived; it is a place where lives are far from ordinary. This place is AFRICA! In my eyes, Africa is a land enriched with life, culture, and diversity. It encompasses historic/precious grounds of which my feet must one-day tread.
I recognize that the Africa that I envision differs greatly from present-day Africa, as issues such as high mortality rates and poverty remain prevalent in many African countries. I aspire to be a change agent by helping to find solutions to such problems. My biggest aspiration, in regards to Africa, is to open orphanages in which children can not only grow as individuals, but also blossom into men and women that will one day change the world.
My journey to Africa has always been a dream, and fortunately, I have the opportunity to make this dream a reality. On June 30th until July 24th, 2015, I plan to study abroad in Accra ,Ghana. This will be the opportunity of a lifetime, and not only a dream come true, but an opportunity to fulfill a love for the land that I will one day call my home.
