Medical Fundraiser for our nephew Ivan Delgado

Hi, my name is Daniel Sanchez and we are fundraising on behalf of Ivan Delgado. We are asking for assistance for my wife’s nephew, Ivan who suffered cardiac arrest on November 10, 2023. Ivan had been a little sick, but it quickly escalated overnight, and he suffered a severe asthma attack at around 2 in the morning. Ivan was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. When Ivan arrived at the hospital he was not breathing and had no pulse. Emergency room doctors administered CPR and were able to revive him. The pulmonologist believes the asthma attack triggered the cardiac arrest. CT scans done over the last few days indicate that he has suffered anoxic brain injury. Anoxic brain damage is caused by a complete lack of oxygen to the brain, which results in the death of brain cells after approximately four minutes of oxygen deprivation. Ivan has been breathing with the assistance of a ventilator. This past Friday (November 17) he had a tracheotomy procedure done and a PEG tube was placed. Ivan remains unconscious. The long-term prognosis is unclear because of the brain injury. The hospital has suggested hospice care, but the family continues to hold hope that Ivan will recover. Ivan is a kind, loving and wonderful person, always putting the needs of his children and family before his own. Ivan in 40 years old and has three children, Skylin, 3, Jeremiah 5, and Ivan, 12 years old. His wife has been by his side at the hospital and his family is assisting with caring for the children. Unfortunately, Ivan did not have medical insurance and was the main financial provider for his family. The money raised will be used for medical expenses as well as other expenses such as groceries, clothing for his children and to pay the rent on the apartment that they are currently living in.
