Ivan MacDonald emergency surgery bills

My brother, Ivan MacDonald, went through emergency surgery on Tuesday morning, August 16th, 2022 at 10 am in Billings, Montana. He had not been feeling well since April of this year after suffering from an infection that put him in the er. Since April, Ivan has been to the emergency room 10 times and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance twice. He has seen over five to six different specialists trying to get to the bottom of his illness. During that time, he lost nearly 90 pounds from being unable to eat and has developed other health issues such as tachycardia (high heart rate). On Friday the 12th, he was taken to the er via ambulance after being awoken with excruciating pain. He was sent home but returned to the er two more times after that. On one of his visits, he discovered that his gallbladder had to be removed with emergency surgery because parts of it had died inside him. Due to the extent to which his gallbladder was sick, he had to have a complete open cholecystectomy, meaning he was cut open below the ribs to remove his gallbladder. My parents were told by his surgeon that they should have admitted him when he came on Friday; and that it's crazy, it got this bad. "He knew his body and knew something was off, yet was told numerous times to "go home and see if you feel better in a few days." These multiple visits and misdiagnoses have added up, and he is currently paying off his enormous medical bills. As his sister seeing him lying in bed with tubes coming out of him is highly frustrating and scary. I am frustrated because this could have been prevented months ago, yet he was misdiagnosed multiple times. It's scary because you never want to see someone you love like that. Ivan is one of the strongest, caring, and hard-working people I know. Over the years, he has given so much to the communities he cares for and works hard for. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and please send love, health, and thoughts to Ivan as he recovers.
