Help Ivan fight Spindle Cell Sarcoma
Donation protected
About Ivan:
Modest, thoughtful, and bright, Ivan Mihov is a 21-year-old Bulgarian man who has been fighting a rare form of cancer for more than one year. A wonderful son, friend, and role model in his community, Ivan has fought tooth-and-nail through the hardships and pain of cancer treatment in his home country.
About (Spindle cell) Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS):
RMS is an incredibly rare type of cancer that forms in the soft tissue, especially skeletal muscle tissue and hollow organs like the bladder. It can occur at any age, but it is often seen in young people.
About Ivan’s Diagnosis:
After going through a misdiagnosis, major surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy, Ivan’s treatment hit a dead-end in his home country of Bulgaria. In December 2020, Ivan was transferred to Johns Hopkins-affiliated Anadolu Medical Center in Istanbul, Turkey. There, doctors believe that there is a real chance to improve Ivan’s health, and a treatment plan was drawn up in a matter of days.
But there is always hope, and everyone deserves a chance to live!
Why We’re Asking for Donations
Medical treatment in a foreign country requires a substantial amount of money, and the hospital has provided an estimate of at least $33,000. For an ordinary Bulgarian family, this sum is simply unattainable. This is why we’re reaching out to a larger audience: Ivan’s medical treatment in Istanbul is our only hope – and we don’t have much time to raise these funds.
All donations will go towards Ivan’s treatment, transportation costs, and supportive care. No matter how big or small, our family deeply appreciates your kindness and generosity.
How to Donate:
If you can’t help through GoFundMe, you can also donate directly to his Bulgarian bank account:
