Altoona Police Department "Project SHARE"
The Altoona Police Department in conjunction with APD Facebook is once again partnering with the St. Vincent de Paul Assumption Chapel Food Pantry of Altoona to bring hope, relief and security to our neighbors struggling with hunger. On Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., we will host “Project SHARE”, which will help the Food Bank meet more of the growing need in our community.
Your support allows the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry to continue providing thousands of pounds of food each year to proven needy persons with emergency food in Altoona, Bellwood and Antis Townships. St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry serves an average of 2500 people in 990 families per month.
Here’s how to help:
DONATE FUNDS: Simply make a donation through our GoFundMe account or donate money on the date of the collection and see how St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry can stretch your dollar. Checks can be written to SVDP-AC.
DONATE FOOD: Drop off food donations with Altoona Police Officers’ standing by in the area of Sub Zero Ice cream (next to Martin’s), 1002 Logan Blvd., Altoona. Please consider the most needed foods:
- Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
- Canned Fruits and Vegetables
- 100% Fruit Juices
- Tuna/Canned Meat
- Peanut Butter
- Low Sugar Cereals
SPREAD THE WORD: Share this event with your friends and family.
