In Loving Memory of Michael R Costello 08/15/1985 – 09/2/2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Michael, a beloved daddy, son, brother, partner, friend, and so much more, who left us all too soon at the age of 38.
Michael was born on 08/15/1985 and brought light and joy into the lives of those around him from the very beginning. His infectious laughter, warm smile, and caring nature touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He loved music and playing the guitar and his creativity knew no bounds. Michael was an avid fan of the band Phish, he has traveled around the county to attend many concerts. In his youth, Michael was active in baseball and loved playing ice hockey. He was a true Philly sports fan, he loved the Eagles, Philles and Flyers. But what he loved most was spending time with his beloved daughter, Izabella (Izzy).
His compassion for others moved him to get his associate degree from Delaware Technical College in Applied Science and Human Services. He was a donor to The Gift of Life Donor Program and will potentially help over 200 people with his generous donation.
Unfortunately, on September 2, 2023, Michael succumbed to the depths of despair, leaving a void in our lives that can never be filled. He battled a silent and internal struggle that ultimately became too much for him to bear. We want to remember Michael not for the circumstances of his passing, but for the beautiful soul he was during his time with us and the loving father he was to Izzy.
Michael is survived by his loving daughter Izabella; Mother Lisa Odoski, Stepdad Edward Odoski, Sister Stacey Odoski (Tim), niece Brooklyn. His maternal grandmother Betty Buttofoco, Uncle Rocco Buttofoco (Carol) and his life partner Hollie Deats many aunts, Uncles, cousins, and all those who will forever cherish the memories they shared together. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Rocco Buttofoco, his dad Michael J Costello; half-brother Sean Merrigan and his favorite dog Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Izabella’s Education Fund. https://www.gofundme.com/create/fundraiser/story/izabella-costello
