Supporting David’s End of Life Journey

David is a fantastic husband to Callie of 22 years and a devoted father to their two teenage girls. After dealing with a severe headache that began around Thanksgiving and fast-progressing symptoms, in early December David was diagnosed with a glioblastoma grade 4 tumor, which is an aggressive, terminal brain cancer. His neurosurgery and oncology teams have also determined that the tumor is inoperable, and David is not currently a candidate to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. In addition to the tumor, David has a pre-existing blood-clotting disorder which greatly complicates everything.

A week after his diagnosis, David suffered a massive seizure and small strokes and spent nearly four weeks in critical care recovering from multiple procedures and surgeries. He then spent a week at a rehabilitation hospital and is now on hospice at an assisted living community.

The medical bills and upcoming care are extensive, and much of his care over the next few months will need to be paid out-of-pocket.
