Helping Vanessa Recover

I want to tell you a story.... The story of a amazingly strong, resilient, sweet, and selfless 23 year old women who needs our help, thoughts and prayers.
It starts in May 2015 when Vanessa woke up with flu like symptoms and a sore arm. Later that same day the sore arm became hot , swollen and too painful to move. Vanessa went to red deer regional where she was diagnosed with necrotizing fasciitis and was rushed into surgery to save her life and arm. Though they were able to save both, Vanessa's fight was not over yet and she would go on to endure serval more hospital stays and 9 more surgeries. Even to this day (7 months later) experts are trying to figure out what to do and what is happening with her arm. She had a long road to recovery between the potential of more surgery and physio just to be able to regain use of her arm. Despite all of this Vanessa kept her head high and persevered. She handled every obstacle thrown at her with grace and a fighters attitude and was even able to go back to work.
I wish I could end the story here but unfortunately I can not...
On November .26th, 2015 around 10pm while leaving her work the unthinkable happened. A coward of a man was on a mission to hurt someone that night and Vanessa was in the wrong place at the wrong time. As she locked up her office this coward robbed her at knife point and even though she complied by giving him her purse he stabbed her in the left side of her chest. Vanessa was able to call 911 and get her self to the hospital where she under went her 11th emergency surgery this year. Dr's had found that the knife had hit bone and missed a major artery by just millimeters. It is a miracle Vanessa is alive. That coward left her to bleed to death in a back alley for a purse! While Vanessa was recovering in hospital with minor internal bleeding and fluid on her lungs, the wound became hot, swollen and she developed a fever....she was rushed in for surgery number 12.
This has left Vanessa with a gaping wound that will need to be left opened with packing changes daily for up to 3 months. As well as the potential of more surgerys and even the posibility of needing reconstruction on her left breast.
Vanessa is now living with her mother and stepfather while she is recovering but she needs our help. She will need months of physical recovery but worse mental recovery. As you can imagine Vanessa was already trying to cope with depression and ptsd from her battle with flesh eating disease and then this traumatic event occured.
I am hoping people will see Vanessa's story and help us help her heal with as little stress as possible. She will not be able to work again for months and finances were already strained from her previous battle so any little bit will help!!! Lets also send her all the positive thoughts, kind words and prayers we can.
I am also wanting to spread the description of the scum bag who did this to her. He is still out there and will likely do something like this again...the next person might not be so lucky. Vanessa almost lost her life and he needs to be held responsible so please share info you hear or see with the Red Deer police.
Description of assailant:
Approx 6 foot, caucasion male . Who was wearing a black ski mask, oversized black winter coat with no gloves. He may be younger because his voice was not very deep or manly and sounded young.
He had a big standard kitchen knife and the purse he took was a Brown Mikael Kors Purse. Belonging to Vanessa Dent. If anyone hears or sees anything ...again please contact the RCMP.
Thank you and god bless.
