Hello friends and family of Greg Garrett,I am Becky Jones, Tracy's sister and Greg's sister-in-law. I want to share the Garrett’s story, with their permission, and ask for your help and support. As you may know, Greg has been diagnosed with cancer. At first, the doctor’s believed it to be Lymphoma and he was sent to get a PET Scan. At this time, cancer was discovered in his abdomen, chest, and neck. Greg was scheduled for a surgical biopsy for the following Monday. Over that weekend, Greg quickly began to experience new and disturbing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, vertigo, double vision, and loss of balance. After the biopsy, they admitted Greg into Mercy Medical Center to perform many more tests, an MRI showed several 1cm tumors and a 2cm tumor that were the cause of the new symptoms. Greg began radiation on these spots immediately while waiting for the results of the biopsy and some of the other tests. The results show that he has cancer that started in is esophagus that has spread to his abdomen, chest, neck, and unfortunately, his brain. After radiation, this week he will begin an aggressive course of chemotherapy. This devastating diagnosis has left Greg unable to work and they are quickly approaching the end of his sick and vacation time, thus, the end of his income. Greg is an amazing architect and he loves what he does and who he works with. He is looking forward to when he is able to return to his passion, designing homes. Greg and Tracy did not think that a day like this would come when they needed help for their own home. In addition, Greg & Tracy’s twin boys, just graduated from Parkway South High School and will be going away to college next month to KU. Sending two boys to college at the same time is a lot during normal times, and with the loss of income it is more so.Tracy & Greg are at the beginning of a very real financial crisis for their family. It is a very scary place to be and they will have to get through it one day at a time. I am reaching out to ask for help to relieve this burden so the family can focus on healing Greg and not worrying about bills and finances. Greg is such a humble and wonderfully selfless person, from strangers to family & friends, Greg has always been there to help, now it is our turn to be there for him. Anything that you can donate will go directly to the Garrett Family. Go Fund Me requires that we have a dollar amount goal. I am putting it at $1 because we really do not know how far and how long their needs will go on. Anything helps, nothing is too small or too large. If you have any questions or would like to help in any other way, please feel free to contact me.Becky
