A bright light was extinguished with the passing of Kiana Takeshita on May 14, her 21st birthday.

Kiana passed away in Bellevue, WA where she was a student at Bellevue College. She was born and raised in Minneapolis where she attended Washburn HS, Laura Jeffry Academy, and Burroughs Elementary. She spent hours at Circus Juventas in St. Paul doing contortion, trapeze, and unicycle.

She is preceded by her mother, Denise and grandfather, Wayne. She is survived by her father Erik, sister Malia, grandparents Ronald and Barbara Callies and Jean Takeshita, 11 aunts and uncles, 17 cousins, and countless other friends and family.

Kiana was a loving and generous young woman. She was beautiful and funny. Kiana was always active and loved being outdoors. She was creative, artistic, and talented, teaching herself ukulele, guitar, and how to roller skate.

A celebration of Kiana's life will be held at 2:00 on June 11 at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel with a visitation from 1-2. A link to the live-stream of her service can be found on her obituary page at www.washburn-mcreavy.com

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred, a portion of which will be donated to NAMI-MN.
