Escaping Genocide :Gaza Evacuation for My Family.
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
I am reaching out to you in a time of profound urgency and desperation. I am seeking your assistance to raise funds for the emergency evacuation of my family of 11 members from Gaza with this GoFundMe page. We aim to raise this amount with your help and generosity , The funds will be utilized for border crossing fees, transportation, temporary accommodation, and other essential expenses associated with ensuring their safety during this challenging time.
Since October 7th, my family has experienced three evacuations. Our home neighborhood in the North has been destroyed, and our family business is gone. Initially evacuating to various relatives' homes in both the North and South, they faced further challenges when Israel claimed the South as a safe zone but later distributed leaflets, prompting them to evacuate again. Since then they have been forced to flee their homes and are terrified for their safety. The family currently resides in a makeshift tent on a street, lacking access to sanitation, medical supplies, food, water, and
warmth.
This fundraiser supports three families , consisting of 11 members, My Parents, 3 youngest sisters and my married sister with her 2 years old doughter and husband anf lastly my only brother with his one year old kid and 8 months pregnant wife are currently in Gaza, facing unimaginable challenges as my sister in law (lama) is almost 35 weeks pregnant with a baby girl and due to have a cesarean delivery.
unfortunately she has not received any medical consultations to know how her pregnancy is going or if the baby is in a good health .every day that goes by is like a ticking bomb for her since she has no way of delivering her baby via c-section in a tent . they have been not able to find any any baby cloth, diapers or a crib ,leaving her in a dire situation with no way to care for their unborn baby. We are urgently seeking your support to facilitate their safe evacuation.
Here is the destruction of the house I grew up in and my family's business shop.
This is a picture of the tent where they're staying at the moment,(you can spot my nephew playing in the sand ) .

- here is a picture of my brother and his small beautiful family.

im currently a stay-at-home wife with 4 kids in Montreal, canada. I’m finding myself thousands of miles away, feeling helpless as my family endures the hardships of the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The situation has become increasingly dire, and I fear for their safety daily
As the immigration canadian minister Marc Miller announced the temporary visa program for extended family members after describing Gaza as "unlivable" and gonna be available on the 9th of January. However they will not cover any any financial assistance for evacuees or their families in Canada. It means that my family will have to pay for all the travel expenses,in addition to the settlement in canada on their own.
These funds will be used for :
_ Application fees
_Transportation and immediate support.
_ Permits and Crossing Fees to leave Gaza required at the Egypt-Gaza border in Rafah.
_ Birth medical expenses. (For my pregnent sister in law).
_ requirements for lodging and food.
_ the stay in Cairo for 6to 9 weeks waiting for the immigration paper work.
_ flight tickets for 11 people from Cairo to Canada.
_The settlement expenses for the first two months month till they find jobs.
(Rent, furniture, winter gear to adapt to the weather ,health coverage, living cost)
- to cover the GoFundMe Transaction fees. The transaction fee is (2.9% + $0.30 per donation).
Help me contribute to a safe, hopeful future for them here in Canada.
Your support, whether big or small, will make a significant difference in ensuring the safety of our loved ones. We are grateful for your compassion and generosity during this challenging time.
We aim to initiate the evacuation process as soon as possible. We anticipate completing the evacuation within hopefully before my sister in law has to do her Cesarean delivery in the crumbling hospitals that are remaining.
Please share this with friends and colleagues and let's bring my family to safety.....together. Thank you for standing with us.
With gratitude, Rasha Zaqout
