Helping a nurse in need
Donation protected
Let’s all get together to provide my Fiancée, Lindsey, with some financial assistance. Everyone that knows this sweet young lady, knows what she has been through in the past, as well as what she is now faced with.
For those who have had the honor to briefly meet her, or have only heard of her, and are not aware… this is Lindsey’s story.
At the age of 22, on February 22 2016, Lindsey was diagnosed with Salivary Gland Cancer. Lindsey underwent major surgery and was hospitalized for countless days. She then completed 35 sessions of radiation, in which she was in remission as of April 11 2016. Throughout the following years, Lindsey had to go through several plastic surgery appointments in order to reconstruct her face.
Unfortunately, one week after being in remission for three years, Lindsey was re-diagnosed on April 18 2019 (at the age of 26) with stage 4 Metastatic Salivary Gland Carcinoma. The terrible disease has now spread to her lungs and bones (specifically the spine, and hips).
Lindsey being a nurse and taking care of others since 2013, as well as an avid hockey player, can no longer do what she loves most. (Besides spending time with her family and all her nieces and nephews).
Lindsey has completed 3 sessions of Chemotherapy, and 10 sessions of radiation now, to only be told that the Chemotherapy did not help at all. Her Oncology team is now looking at proceeding with Immunotherapy treatments (Keytruda), which is very costly.
Unfortunately, the company Lindsey was working for, did not offer disability benefits, however we are fortunate that my benefits will cover 80% of her Immunotherapy treatments. Since the Immunotherapy treatments can cost up to $10,000 / month, we are seeking assistance to cover the remaining 20% - as well as provide Lindsey with some financial assistance to enjoy herself, stress free.
There is no goal set for this campaign – as we appreciate every contribution.
Much love ! – Thank you!
