HOPE FOR THE HOPELESS

My name is Kofi Twumasi-Adutwum and I am raising funds to support individuals who do not have resources to dialyse in Ghana and also to provide educational workshop on renal issues.

Patients with renal failure need three to four hour sessions of dialysis, three times a week. In the UK, this treatment is given freely to all that need it. 

In Ghana (where government supported treatment is not accessible to most of the population) the cost can be as high 600 Ghanaian Cedis per dialysis session. That is £40. A staggering £640 monthly cost. 

The average salary in Ghana is 3000cedis which roughly converts too £200.

This is why the poorer Ghanaian population sees a diagnosis of renal/kidney failure as a death sentence. 

Here at Kakson Kidney Foundation, we are hoping to provide free/affordable dialysis treatments to those who don't have the resources to obtain the life sustaining dialysis treatment. 

As of the moment, I am working in the UK as a nurse at the Milton keynes renal hospital to fund the dialysis centre. This means all the equipment and consumables bought are self funded. Unfortunately, this is not a sustainable.

Which is why every little donation is so important. Every single donation goes towards easing the suffering of those in dire need of dialysis.
