A grieving mother

Hi, my name is Sharana. On December 29, 2023, I gave birth to my son preterm at 24 weeks while very ill. He was stillborn.
On the evening of December 29th, my partner took me to the ER with what I thought were symptoms of the flu; high fever, lethargy, shortness of breath. I found out that I was in septic shock and my baby no longer had a pulse. I had no choice but to deliver him.
After delivering him, I realized how sick I was because of my body being in septic shock. I was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit for 2 days after developing pneumonia in the hospital with dangerously low blood pressure and E. coli in my bloodstream from the sepsis.
When my blood pressure started to regulate on its own, I was discharged from the ICU and transferred to the Women’s Care Center where I had to heal from my birth and illnesses without my baby boy.
I was discharged from the hospital on January 6, 2024. While feeling much better physically, mentally I am not sure where to begin to heal. With all of the horrific, traumatic events, I have been unable to work per my obstetricians orders. Unfortunately when loss happens, life will not pause and wait for you to recover and catch up.
I am raising funds to aid in financial recovery ❤️ .
I am grateful to be here to share my story. My son will forever be loved and never forgotten as my first born.
