Emergency Adoption - Housing Needed
Donation protected
My name is Briana Reyes and my boyfriend Alfredo and I have recently acquired 3 new members to my family. On December 23rd this week we received terrible news that his father had taken his own life. He was raising his three youngest children (ages 11, 7, and 6). Their mother passed away 5 years ago (at ages 6, 2, and 1) leaving them with no parent to care for them. Of course, we took it upon ourselves to take the boys into our own home.
Before the death, they lived near Indianapolis, Indiana but now they will be living with me and their older brother (Alfredo) in Roscoe, Illinois. Right now we are struggling to get everything in order for the funeral, and our next task will be to enroll the boys in school so that they can attend second semester in our school district.
Our biggest problem however is the fact that our home is not large enough for all of us. We are currently paying off the mortgage on our two-bedroom, one bathroom house in Roscoe, IL, but we already have one daughter (3 years old) in the other bedroom.
Our goal is to finish our basement and add one room to our house in order for each child to have their own bed.
Because of the nature of the situation, we need help as soon as possible - right now the boys are sleeping on our couch and a fouton that we have in our basement.
Your help means so much to me and my family; we want the best possible environment for these boys to thrive despite their significant losses.
Thank you so much for taking the time to hear our story, and giving if you have the means.
I will be posting updates on how the boys are doing throughout this transition process.
