#J4J & Helping the Animals at MCAC-S

Hello Everyone! My name is Madison Turnquist. I created this Fundraiser in my sister's honor, Julia Niswender. 

Julia was murdered in her off campus apartment in Ypsilanti Michigan where she atteneded Easetern Michigan University. On Dec. 10th 2012, Julia's life and the rest of my family and my life had forever changed. On this very day that I am making this Fundraiser (Nov.10th 2022) marks 9 years and 11months since shes been gone. But in one short month that will turn to 10 years, in which Julia's murder still goes unsolved. My family trys to do something every year in the name of my sister to continue to honor her and to keep her name/story alive. 

Julia was an all around Animal-Lover. On many occasions when Julia would walk to and from classes on campus she'd have birds and squirrels just walk up to her like they knew her from a past life. Julia also loved and adored Dogs & Cats. Julia's grandmother had a dog named Harley that was Julia's absolute bestfriend. Harley slowly became heartbroken after he realized what had happened to his favorite person.. So to continue to honor my sister and her story, the family decided we wanted to make a GoFundMe to raise money for the Monroe County Animal Control/Shelter. Julia grew up in Monroe MI and her little sister Madison (me : organizer of fundraiser) has spent lots of quality time at the shelter sharing Julia's and her love with all the Cats & Dogs. I can personally say I am my sister's keeper and I truly believe that all the time I have spent with each Animal at the shelter, Julia had a hand on them too❤️

The money from this Fundraiser will go directly into the Monroe County Animal Control/Shelter animal care fund to help all the dogs and cats recieve proper/need vetting and to help cover spay/neuter costs. I know that if Julia were still here, the shelter would be a second home to her as it is for me so please consider making a donation and know you are making a difference for the animals and a family still grieving the loss of their loved one.
