Medical Equipment for Justin
Donation protected
We are neighbors of the Quirke family. They have two children, Justin and Matteo. Tom and Alicia's one son Justin is 13 years old and has Giant Axonal Neuropathy. This is a rare neurodegenerative disorder. Justin is one of 80 kids in the WORLD that have this. Treatment of giant axonal neuropathy is symptomatic and supportive and often involves a team of professionals including pediatric neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, psychologists and speech and language therapists. Justin relies on many medical devices and it is critical that he never be without them. The power outages we experienced this past week left the Quirke's scrambling to ensure Justin's life saving equipment was charged. Due to Covid, a hospital visit was NOT an option. Justin's well being can not be compromised. As neighbors of this beautiful family we would like to raise enough money to get a generator so the Quirke's, namely Justin, have one less worry. Any additional money will go towards the many other expenses the parents have as Tom has been furloughed due to Covid and has not been able to return to work. We ask that you please find it in your heart to donate (no amount is too small) and more importantly, to share this post. Below is a link to an article written specifically about this family, their son's medical equipment necessities and the dangerous situation power outages put him in. Thank you for taking the time to read this and your generosity.
