Feline Rescue Foundation of Alberta (FRFA) is based in Calgary. They rescue, provide rehabilitation and re-homing for cats living on the streets and in rural areas. The majority of the cats are feral or abused. FRFA is a no-kill facility. The warehouse which they have been using as their shelter is being demolished. On January 31st they will be homeless. There will be over 100 cats with no place to go. They are absolutely desperate and nobody has stepped up to provide warehouse space or the funds to help pay rent for a warehouse. The Government of Alberta canceled funding for many small charities including the $25000.00 that was supposed to go to the FRFA. The rental market in Calgary is so tight that many people have abandoned their cats because landlords don't allow pets. It is absolutely heartbreaking to see the situation that these cats face if a new home can't be found. They have already been victimized once and we can't let it happen again. With all of the horrific stories of animal abuse in Calgary recently it is terrifying to think what could happen. Cats have never been turned away and we can't turn our back on the FRFA.
