I am so deeply grateful for the love and care each of you has shown my family since last fall. In a time of hardship and loss, you have made me understand the true power of friendship in a new way, and given me more strength than I am able to convey in words.
I could not have imagined what 2014 was going to hold for our family. When Dan had his heart attack in November I did not know how we would be able to go on. I saw my way through this dark time only through the help of all of you. Your support came in so many forms: kind words and prayers; meals, cleaning, and babysitting; financial help and assistance with insurance, lawyers and medical billing; and, perhaps most of all, listening and compassion. Because of you I was able to spend precious time with Dan each day in the hospital and rehabilitation facility. And because of you I was able to feed my family good, home-cooked meals and keep life as steady as possible for Tai.
Although I am devastated by the loss of my husband, in a powerful sense I have never felt more blessed, because this experience has shown me the true friendships I have in each of you. This difficult time has brought us all together like a beautifully orchestrated song, for Dan.
Deepest gratitude,
