Ortiz family asking for help

Hi everyone:

 

I was compelled to create this page for my uncle Joe Ortiz, who recently received unexpected and heartbreaking medical results requiring a very costly emergency surgery and hospital stay.

 

There are some people in our lives who just make a profound impact on our lives, and that person for me is my Uncle Joe. Although he is a private person, I have seen that he is a very caring individual who would literally give the shirt from his back to anyone in need. Through his work as a Respiratory Therapist and personally, he has touched many lives and given selflessly of his time and energy. During these hard times of COVID, when frontline medical staff was stretched thin and most likely exhausted, Uncle Joe worked tirelessly to ensure that his patients were comfortable, well-cared for, and treated with respect especially when family couldn’t be there with their loved ones. Even through working long and arduous hours, he always found time to be there for his family and friends.

 

Unfortunately, doctors recently found that Uncle Joe had a brain tumor that was causing debilitating symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, weakness, etc. He was immediately admitted to the hospital, as he was told that he could literally go to sleep one day and never wake up. He has now had surgery, is currently in ICU, and since being admitted to the hospital on October 19, his medical bills and living expenses have started piling up. The healing process is a lengthy one for this type of surgery and don’t know how long he may be out of work.

 

Uncle Joe has always been strong, independent, and financially stable, but now finds himself in need of financial help. With that in mind, as a family we ask that you unite with us, as we reach out to family, friends, the community, anyone who can help with any donation to help my uncle. As you may know, stress can impede the healing process, so any amount is welcomed, and we are grateful for all donations.
