Help bring Pippi home

For those of you who don’t know Jodie and Julie, they are commonly known as the Glenworth Agistment fairy godmothers. With 5 horses between them - all rescued Standardbreds, they visit everyday and give their absolute all to not only their horses, but all horses on the property and their humans.
Over the weekend, these 2 beautiful ladies were faced with every horse owners worst nightmare, their sweet little Pippi was colicing.
With what started off as a sore foot on Saturday afternoon, the situation changed quickly overnight to colic symptoms and a visit from the local vet Sunday morning. Following pain relief sedation and several bags of fluid, Pippi was still not comfortable and it became evident she needed to go to an Equine Hospital.
Sadly for Jodie and Julie, they are all too familiar with this process having gone through it all less than a year ago with beautiful Nayeli, and they knew they were about to be faced with difficult decisions and all those unknowns again.
There are many factors that affect a horse owners decision to go ahead with colic surgery; and with Pippi’s age, health and a positive prognosis from the treating surgeon all in her favour, Jodie and Julie made the decision to go ahead!
Whilst there are still many hurdles to overcome, Pippi is stronger than we ever gave her credit for and after having a calcified piece of rope (that may have been there for years!) and over 60kg of manure removed, she has come out of surgery and taking all the right steps forward for a full recovery.
Overall Jodie and Julie don’t expect any financial support, but they do hope that this brings everyone’s awareness to the importance of picking up rubbish no matter how small it is and regardless of who left it there.
In saying that one of the best parts of GV is our wonderful community, so we have created this GoFund me page for Jodie and Julie so that we can do whatever we can to help ease the pressure and bring Pippi home! <3
