Randy's Recovery
Donation protected
We, the family of Randy Tafoya, are asking for support through Randy’s recovery from a traumatic surgery complication. On March 10th, Randy went in for surgery to remove a mass on the back of his tongue. The mass later came back as early signs of cancer. Friday, May 12th, Randy went back in for surgery to thoroughly remove any cancerous cells. The surgery initially went very well and he was set to be sent home after he was monitored for the weekend. Early Monday morning, something went terribly wrong. Randy was rushed into emergency surgery as we all jumped out of bed and to the hospital at 2 in the morning. After what felt like forever, Randy was stable and in the ICU. After almost two weeks, Randy woke up from surgery. He is now fully awake and alert and slowly regaining his strength still in the ICU. Yolanda, his wife, has stuck by his side every day and night since the 12th. His children and grandchildren and many other family have been amazing support and shown great strength through this all. Randy is getting better each day but has a long road of recovery ahead of him. We thank you for any support you are willing to share with us during this time. We thank you for all the kind thoughts, prayers and encouragement you have for Randy, an amazing husband, father, bampa and mentor.
