BWB Values Project
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Albert and I play for BWB's (Bath and Wiltshire Blues) under 11 football team.
BWB is a district football team that provides a free training programme and also opportunities to play against academy teams and participate in tournaments both in the UK and abroad.
BWB relies on fundraising to continue providing our teams with quality coaching, and while football is the main passion for the team - BWB also organises events that develops our team to support each other, develop responsibility and test ourselves in challenging environments whilst upholding BWB’s four core values; Compassion, Responsibility, Curiosity, and Resilience.
This is where the Find Value project comes in. I have been tasked with raising money for the BWB charity, using these values.
So what am I planning to do? In April I will be undertaking a walking challenge to walk up Pen y Fan taking the Horseshoe Ridge route – “the tough one”. It’s a demanding 10 mile circuit leading from the Taf Fechan Forest up to Corn Du (873m), Pen y Fan (886m), Cribyn (795m) and Fan y Big (719m). This will be the longest walk of this type I have ever attempted and will certainly put my commitment to BWB's core values to the test. I have taken time to plan my route, prepare and pack the essential items and provisions to enable me to complete the walk, all the while keeping a close eye on the weather forecast!!
If I am fortunate enough to raise more than my initial target of £200, I will donate any additional contributions to the Dementia UK Charity. Dementia cases are increasing in the UK and has had a direct impact on my family therefore I am keen to support their cause.
Please could I ask you sponsor me, and support my club to offer more young people like me to benefit from such great training and support.
Many thanks,
Albert.
