Hello, my name is Tia, and our daughter is Gracie. Gracie received her 4-year-old vaccinations on February 12th. The day after, on February 13th, our worst nightmare became a reality.

My partner and I picked up Grace from school; she was unconscious and had soiled herself with saliva and foam dried on her cheeks.
Grace was rushed to the emergency department with a temperature of over 41 degrees and no response.
Grace was placed into the resuscitation bay, where she bravely underwent medical attention. Still, she remained unresponsive despite being barely conscious with her eyes open.
The doctors informed us that if the temperature had remained that high and the liquid had not been cleared, she would have died.

Grace had a febrile seizure due to a high temperature, and we were told that it was a one-time event. However, after monitoring her for a few days and weeks, Grace started experiencing grand mal seizures that were more severe and affecting her physical and cognitive abilities. The seizure has two stages - first, loss of consciousness lasts for 10 to 20 seconds, followed by muscle convulsions that usually last for less than two minutes.

Grace experiences memory loss after and during seizures, during which she is unable to recognize her family. She has had four major grand mal seizures and countless minor mal seizures over the past few weeks, during which she loses control of her physical self and her memories.

Recently, one that lasted 2 minutes, Grace had gotten into bed, and all of a sudden had no idea where she was, who myself and my partner were, and immediately attacked me, hitting and punching me. Holding her back, she screamed, "Where am I? I'm being squashed". After 2 minutes, she realized where she was and calmed down.
The following day, Grace experienced difficulty speaking and eating. She couldn't recall her name and was unable to communicate effectively.

Grace has been experiencing memory loss and confusion for almost two months, repeatedly forgetting her dad, two sisters and myself. It has been a difficult time for all of us to witness her struggle with not remembering who she is, who we are, and where she is. Grace has also been overcoming a limp on the right side of her body and involuntary movements in her face and legs, which cause her to fall and lose consciousness frequently. Recently, she has also been unable to recall other family members and wakes up utterly unknown to the world, where we introduce ourselves daily to our daughter.

We have been advised to wait for a specialist team at Perth Children's Hospital. Still, our little girl's condition is worsening each day, and the costs of assessments are unimaginable.

I am raising funds to help cover the expenses of her medical bills, sensory doctor bills, and travel expenses to and from Perth Children's Hospital for scans that Medicare and private health insurance do not fully cover.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would be immensely appreciated and will be used solely for the health and well-being of our daughter, Grace.

This is something we have kept to ourselves. We have been trying to work through it as a family, but due to the circumstances, it has become extremely overwhelming and difficult.

We appreciate your assistance greatly. Thank you very much.
