Randy Needs a Leg
On the 18th of Oct 2017, Randy Morehouse stepped on a nail at a work site. On the 27th of Oct he was prescribed 3 days of intravenous antibiotics. The bacteria was resistant to the antibiotics. On the 30th of Oct Randy was advised by his surgeon that he had a necrotizing gaseous gangrene. The infection was moving up his leg and the surgeon advised that he was in a life threatening situation and that the only option was amputation.
Randy put a claim in to WorkSafe NB and has been declined. It is Sept 2018 and Randy has not been able to purchase a prosthesis due to the cost. An estimate was given of an initial start up cost of around $10,000-$13,000 and additional cost during the first year of $7,000-$10,000 more.
Thank you in advance for all your donations! It is very much appreciated!
