EMERGENCY: Help a Small School Avoid Closure!
Donation protected
Without funding and enrollment, our little school in the hills will disappear. We need your help by 3/11/24!
**If we do not meet our funding goal and the school does not open, your donation will be returned.**
Did you know that Colorado is 34th out of 50* in school funding? YOU can make a personal difference in a kid's education and a teacher's job TODAY.
Coal Creek Canyon K8 (CCCK-8) is located in the foothills of Colorado Rocky Mountains and serves students from THREE counties. For over 130 years, canyon kids have attended school in their home community. The county in which the school sets has decided to close the school. However, an established charter school, Jefferson Academy, has made plans to take over CCCK8 so that the children and teachers in the community have a school.
Unfortunately, our enrollment numbers are lower than expected this year and we won't get enough funding from the state to survive.
Our GoFundMe is just one strategy we have for year 1 along with parent volunteers who are writing grants, soliciting businesses, and contacting neighbors to boost funding. As our younger students fill the seats in the upcoming years, we won't need to fundraise for our school.
This grassroots campaign can make the difference and every donation counts!
