Jace Buck’s Medical Journey
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
Im going to start this off by first introducing myself. My name is Tayler Gierke and I am Jace Buck’s sister. I am speaking on behalf of his mother Schandra, father John, sister Meranda and brother Blake. His family in Maine, William Paquet and Hope. His friends Vincent, Mike and Dakota and so many more people.
Jace Buck is one of the most wonderful, brilliant, kind, selfless, funny and outgoing 18 year old there is. Jace unfortunately was involved in a terrible car accident last night around 1 am driving home. The vehicle he was in rolled 7 times, ejecting him out of the vehicle. He was the only one in the vehicle and was a 1 car accident. It happened out on the highway on the way to Sun River, MT. Thankfully the farmer whose field he was in woke up this morning to check on his crops and called the authorities right away. Jace sat there for approximately 6.5 hours with a shattered neck, nobody around to hear him or help him. He was screaming for help the whole time until the gentleman found him and then was mercy flighted to the hospital this morning around 7:30am. While at the hospital he had gotten his exam in the ER and an MRI, where the results were all of our worst nightmares. He shattered his C7 in his neck and his spinal cord is completely compromised. Leaving Jace paralyzed from the chest down. Jace underwent surgery today around 2 pm to repair the C7 in his neck, which was successful. However his spinal cord is currently non-repairable. Given the circumstances and all of the upcoming hospital stays, physical therapists, counselors, specialists, medical equipment. The list goes on. Our family is in need of some serious help. We love Jace so very much and he is the shining light in everybodies life. He is always making everyone around him laugh, smile and just overall happy. To say this is devastating is a complete understatement.
Anything helps, whether it’s a quick click of the share button or $1. We all appreciate the help beyond words could ever explain. As well as all the kind words. It’s a very long journey we are about to embark on, but we are blessed to have the people we do in ours lives.
Thank you from the bottom of ours hearts. Truly.
The Buck, Clough and Gierke family.
