Jase Weerheim Medical Expenses and Recovery Fund

Hello Everyone, My name is Christina Edwardson, and I am raising funds on behalf of the Weerheim family, located here in Sioux City, IA. In late March of 2023, Jase Weerheim, youngest son of Jared & Jill Weerheim was diagnosed with a Choroid Plexus Papilloma- a rare type of brain tumor. Jace underwent surgery in May at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE. Surgery was successful and the tumor was removed and after staying 5 days for observation and recovery, Jase was sent home. After returning home, Jase continued to experience headaches and nausea, causing him to make two additional trips to Children’s Hospital, without a real cause or diagnoses for why he was still in pain. On the morning of July 13th, Jase began having seizures and was rushed to the ER in Sioux City where they found a ruptured aneurysm completely unrelated to his surgery and in a different area of the brain. After being sedated and intubated, Jace was transported to Children’s Hospital by ambulance where an external shunt was placed and the decision was made to transfer to Nebraska Medical for an emergency angiogram to repair the aneurysm. The surgery was successful and Jase is still intubated until his brain heals which the doctors say is up to Jase when he comes out of it. Jill and Jared will remain in Omaha with Jase while he recovers. They have both taken extended time off of work while his condition has been ongoing. I am asking for financial relief so they can focus on getting their son healthy and back home. If you know the Weerheims, you know they would much rather be spending their time at the ball field. Jared coaches several of the boys activities while managing at Scheels, and Jill is running the boys activities, washing uniforms, and working full time in the dental field. This is an impossibly difficult situation that they have been put in watching their child suffer for months and any burden we can take off of them will be appreciated. Thank you for your time! - [ ]
