Jaci Russo - Mother of 3 in a coma
Donation protected
Jaci Russo is a mother of 3 children and recently suffered a severe ashma attack that rendered her without oxygen for several minutes. She has been in a coma in the ICU since Monday, December 1st. After initial signs of brain damage, the Doctor's cooled her body for 24 hours to allow her body a chance to repair some of the damage. She has since been brought back to regular body temperature and taken off the sedatives however, she has made no attempt to breathe on her own.
An EEG yesterday revieled some brain activity however the chances of a full recovery are very slim. In the next few days, she will have four procedures: a tracheostomy (they already replaced the very large breathing tube with a smaller, more comfortable one), a breathing tube, a feeding tube and a PICC line. Jaci will remain five to seven more days in hospital, giving her the chance to wake on her own.
If she does not wake up, she will be transferred to a rehab facility, where they will help her to get off of the ventilator and breathe on her own. Once she is off of the ventilator, she will be transferred to a nursing home to receive round the clock care.
In the midst of this devastating situtation, the family is also under heavy finacial burden resulting in impending medical bills, costs of continued care for her children, and various costs such as covering rent for her apartment etc.
There is still a miricale to be had here. Jaci and her family need your continued prayers and if able, your finaical support. Even a small donation can help take away the added financial burden felt by the family and can hopefully provide a relief for those taking care of her children.
