Jack Bickel Sr.

On behalf of the Bickel & Chaney family we are sad to say Jack has gained his wings. He passed peacefully but unexpectedly at home. Those of you who knew him knew he was a free spirit. Always cracking jokes. He was truly the life of the party. Before he met his wife Dorothy and started a family, at just the age of 17 he enlisted into the army as a tank driver and then later became a Combat Engineer, serving 6yrs.
He didn’t let his engineering skills stop there. There wasn’t anything he could not make! He was also a one of a kind wood carver and bead maker. And so much more! But there was nothing more he loved than his grandkids. They truly gave him the love and energy he needed to keep fighting.

Words can’t describe how sad we all are that he left us and selfishly we want him back. Jack struggled with health problems for many years and fought one hell of a battle. We find comfort in knowing he is finally free and no longer suffering.
Dorothy (his wife) is struggling financially and more so now that Jack has passed. This is the last thing she should be concerned about so I am reaching out to anyone who is able to help. Any little bit does.
We will announce when we will have his celebration of life once we take this time to grieve.
Thank you so much.
