JACK THE GOOD BOY - EMERGENCY SURGERY FUND

Donation protected
Ya’ll, the only thing that could be more devastating than me breaking both of my wrists earlier this year is for my perfect, happy boy Jack to be in constant pain and unable to walk, and here we are. UPDATE: Jack has seen a Neurologist and we’ve received an official estimate. She believes he either has IVDD in two places OR meningitis. We are hoping for the first. The surgery is more expensive for IVDD but meningitis is life long or possibly fatal, but there are treatments! - They WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD with the required MRI and testing without full payment up front since he will have to go into surgery that day if IVDD and the MRI for Meningitus test is estimated at $8,000 if not. Thank you for your support. We just want Jack better and this is timely. There is a possibility of permanent paralysis if he goes untreated too long for IVDD and he has not shown signs of improvement. - The day I was supposed to finally go back to work, I ended up rushing Jack to the animal hospital. He was misdiagnosed and they charged me $1100. Luckily, I went back to my old vet (at Four Paws at Four Points, who is caring and intelligent) and she immediately knew he had IVDD. IVDD is a degenerative disease but we went for crate rest, steroids and some meds to manage pain because 80% of doggos can recover this way and continue on for a long period of their life without surgery, especially young bucks like Jack! But it's been over a month now, and when I tried to taper him off of the steroids he quickly declined. It's a scary waiting game because if he declines to the point of paralyzation, it is irreversible. He walks criss-cross on his hind legs, almost falling over and trembling. He's having constant muscle spasms that are getting increasingly worse. He just sits in his crate half of the time panting with "help me, Mom" eyes and there's nothing I can do and it's killing me. I've looked into options like acupuncture but no one can get him in until the end of the month and I can't afford it on top of the other care right now. I can't afford any of it after my accident which put me out of work for my two busiest months of the year and in debt. I'm asking you to please share, donate, SHARE SHARE SHARE if you can because he deserves it and I am so devastated that I can't afford to show up in the way I should be able to as his Mom. If you know him, he's the most sweet, well-behaved, happy and playful guy you'll ever meet. Ball is life and he can't even walk now...he needs us! UPDATE: - His appointment with the neurologist is Tuesday, July 18th. I can't get in sooner and I can't apply for assistance or post to public pages without an official estimate and they refuse to give me one until this appointment. I will update as soon as this happens or anything else does. THANK you for showing up for Jack, and thank you to everyone who has already shown up for me this year.
