Jack Crittenden’s Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi my name is Barbara and I am raising money for my four year old great nephew Jack Crittenden’s family. I am at St. Jude Hospital in Memphis with Jack and his mother. He was born with a disease called FAP (Familial Adenomatous Polyposis). This disease is an inherited disorder characterized by cancer of the large intestine (colon) and rectum. It usually starts with polyps in the colon as early as teenage years. Thankfully Jack hasn’t started with that yet but this disease can also cause other problems. In Jack’s case, he has hepatoblastoma (cancer of the liver). He has a large tumor on his liver and several other spots that are suspicious. He has had four rounds of chemotherapy and they are hoping that the tumor has shrunk enough for surgery. They will do MRI and CT scans on November 29th to check. His big surgery is scheduled for November 30th. He will be in ICU for a couple of days but I have no idea how long he’ll be in the hospital. We were originally told he would need six rounds of chemotherapy so I think that is still on the schedule. We were also told we would be here for four to six months. We have been here since September 23rd.
The family will use any monies collected for household expenses at home and sending money to their twelve year old daughter Christine at home, who also inherited FAP and has already had to have a polyp removed. Christine is staying with Karen but there are school expenses and other expenses that Karen needs help with. Your donations will go directly to Jack’s family.
If you can find it in your heart, please help this family. Your donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated. We are also accepting all the prayers you have. Thank you all. - Barbara
