Jack Norton, PIAA Umpire Funeral Fund

Hello everyone! This GoFundMe Project is being established as a Memorial to Jack Norton, a PIAA umpire who left this earth earlier this month. We want to help his wife pay off his funeral bill.

My name is Myron Grubaugh. I am President of the Brandywine Umpire Organization (BUO) Chapter of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).  Our organization umpires High School baseball games in Chester Country, in SE Pennsyslvania. BUO is sponsoring this GoFundMe campaign.

John "Jack " Norton was a PIAA umpire for over 30 years and a member of BUO  since it's inception in 1991.  Jack was a member, friend, and mentor to all of us who have been associated with  BUO and the PIAA.

Jack passed away on April 9 2020, at  the age of 78, as a result of his failed body. He left behind his beloved Hilma, wife of 49 years, and family of 7 children and 12 grandchildren.

Unfortunately, Jack did not leave enough insurance to cover the cost of the funeral and Hilma needs our help. Jack was in a care facility for the past 2+ years and that has devastated their financial situation.  Hilma is now facing the bills from that funeral and needs help in paying the bill. BUO, along with anyone else who can help us reach our goal, wants to help pay off the bill. The shortfall Hilma is facing toward the cost of the funeral is $6500.

Our goal is to raise $10,000, which will allow her to pay off that debt and have some left over for other expenses.

Please donate as you are able to, and be as generous as you can be. Helping Hilma is our only goal here! We need the funds in the next 60 days for payment of the funeral bill.

The money will be handled by the BUO Chapter, and I and the other Officers of the Chapter will ensure that Hilma receives the funds raised.
