Jack Pearson Memorial Fund

Our dear, sweet Jack has left us. Jack was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma on December 27th and died on January 5th, two weeks after checking into the hospital. He was only 63. We are absolutely shattered. It can't be true that our darling banjo man was taken so soon.
But it is true. And with that comes a host of challenges, some of them financial. Jack incurred significant medical bills during his time in the ICU, and it's unclear how much will be covered by insurance. Beyond that, Jack's wife, Nancy, is now without income—she's on medical disability for MS and can't work. Of the many joys that come from being married to a musician, financial security unfortunately isn't one of them. Nancy needs a cushion to deal with these expenses as she makes her way forward.

Many of you are in shock at this news. We are, too. If you'd like to read our chronicle of Jack's last days, you can do that here:

When his dear friend was dying from cancer, Jack wrote a song called "Trust Now in Love." It's one of the last songs Jack heard before he slipped away from us. It comforted us then. Maybe it will comfort you, too.
P.S. We're hosting two memorial services to celebrate Jack's extraordinary life—one in Minneapolis (May 6th, 2:00pm) and one in California at Mount Hermon (May 21st, 4:00pm). Full details here .
